More about Fabio Abbreccia
Fabio Abbreccia's style is inspired by the late 20th century great figuration, especially of Anglo-Saxon origin going from Bacon to Freud to Jenny Saville. The female faces and bodies, in large portraits, become a geography of feelings: to Abbreccia, the colours overexposed to the figure with spatula strokes are not only an aesthetic excuse, but rather the motive of a psychological introspection; colours that enhance, through the eyes, the soul of the portrayed person. His painting is utterly modern which originates by a real figure which becomes memory thanks to a thick brush stroke.
